AmazonBasics Travel Backpack VS eBags eTech 2.0 Weekender Travel Backpack PROS:

Great bag! But “backpack”is an overstatement. This bag is more than a backpack; it is almost the size of a wheeled carry-on. Actually, this is essentially a carry-on that you strap to your back instead of rolling it on wheels. See pic for comparison. My friend’s bag is on the left, this bag is on the right, and it’s about 2″ shorter than my friend’s bag. I like the bag, but I was looking for something to replace the North Face backpack that I had been traveling with so it’s bigger than I thought it would be.

Great bag for those who know how to travel lite. Just purchased this bag for a trip to Europe. I also bought the ebag weekender to see which one I liked better. They are both well made, strong zippers, with good back and shoulder padding. They are very comparable but this bag is $20 less expensive. I wanted a bag that I can carry on to save the cost of baggage fees, and this one will fit easily in an overhead bin. I did a practice pack and it seems to have more than enough room for a 3 week trip as long as you pack smart. (It might be a bit tight if you were packing lots of sweaters, or heavy jeans.) I didn’t give it 5 stars because there are a few details on the Amazon description that are not on the bag. It does not have an optional main compartment divider, and it does not have a hidden exterior water bottle holder I wish they were included because then the bag would be comparable to the ebags Motherlode weekender which is probably the best, but more than double the price. This is the bag I kept.
